Every year at this time, thinking about sacrifices armed forces veterans have made and the indelible impact that service has had on their lives looms large on my mind. This year I recall two vets with stories that captivated me. Ten years ago I wrote about one encounter with Nurse Peg. She served in the Pacific theater during WWII. In honor of Veterans Day 2025, I’m re-posting her story.
